2014 Mental Health Care Amendment Act repeals 1973 Mental Health Act

On 1 July 2016, the Mental Health Care Amendment Act of 2014, came into effect. This act amends the Mental Health Care Act of 2002. It repeals the 1973 Mental Health Act, as well as providing for delegation of powers by the head of the national Department of Health.
